Then Gideon built an altar there to the Lord, and called it - TopicsExpress

Then Gideon built an altar there to the Lord, and called it Jehovah-Shalom: to this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.(Judges 6 : 24). That is the Focal Scripture of the Devotional today. As we conclude our meditation on Gideon, it is instructive to observe what Gideon did in our Focal Scripture. Gideon built an altar unto the Lord, and called it JEHOVAH-SHALOM,meaning The Lord is Peace. Gideon was yet to fight and win the battle against the Midianites, yet he built an altar and called it The Lord is Peace. There was no Victory yet,but he declared peace.Gideons testimony was yet to manifest, but he was assured that God is his peace. What he wanted from God was yet to arrive, but he insisted that the Lord is his peace. He declared peace where there was still a war to fight. It was the kind of peace that came by revelation not by what the situation was saying. Friend, there may be wars all around you,but God says, I AM YOUR PEACE. There may be issues bothering you but God says, I am your Peace. I know there are unpaid bills but God is your Peace. There may be unanswered prayers but God is your Peace. Beloved, Gods Peace is the first sign that He(God) is fighting your battles. Gods peace gives you a sense of sufficiency in the midst of challenges. The Peace of God in the midst of unfulfilled expectations is also a pointer to the fact that God is growing your spiritual stamina.Phil. 4 : 7 says the Peace of God passes all understanding. Wow! So, how you will know you are manifesting the Peace of God is your ability to stay peaceful in the midst of challenges, to crown it all, you may not even understand why you are calm and peaceful but you are still unpretentiously calm.Beloved, Relax! God is working on your behalf; Like Gideon, anyday from now, you will hear the goodnews! Pray with me,Lord, may your Peace rule over me in Jesus name. Have a Wonderful Sundae n rmmbr 2 be in choch 2de.
