Then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or ‘There He is,’ do not believe him. For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. Matthew 24:23-24 (NASB) In the midst of the great confusion and tribulation false prophets would arise and perform great miracles. Christ warned against being deceived by these emissaries of Satan. The followers of Christ will not be deceived by bogus deliverers, but will await the coming of the Lord from heaven. Jesus’ warnings about false teachers still hold true. Upon close examination it becomes clear that many nice sounding messages do not agree with God’s message in the Bible. Only a solid foundation in God’s Word being equipped with the Holy Spirit can help us to perceive the errors and distortion in false teaching. What are you looking for in Jesus Christ? Are you looking for a religion or a relationship? If all we have is a religion it will be easy to be deceived by false teachers. As believers we need a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We need to have committed ourselves to be obedient and dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ. Our commitment must be to Jesus Christ not our church, not our family, but to Christ and then the rest will fall in line. Are you totally committed to the person Jesus Christ?
