There Is A Purpose 2 KINGS 9: 1-13 “And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.” (2 Kings 9: 7). When Jehu was anointed as King of Israel, God gave him a mandate to destroy the house of Ahab and execute vengeance against Jezebel. Heaven had a purpose to achieve when Jehu was raised as King. God had an assignment for Jehu before raising him ahead of his peers. Isn’t it tragic that sometimes, we simply bask in the euphoria of being raised by God and we forget the purpose for which we were raised? Sometimes, we get new opportunities, jobs, favours, positions, promotions, etc and we forget God’s purpose for making us beneficiaries. Friend, for every elevation that God brings your way, there is a purpose. There is a purpose for every favour, financial breakthrough, miracle, etc that God brings your way; there is a purpose for every position God allows you to occupy; there is a purpose for every divine manifestation that God grants you. There is a reason why God raised you ahead of others, gave you opportunities you may not have deserved, answered your prayers, etc; there is a reason why opportunities may have come looking for you on a platter of gold; there is a purpose for everything God sends to you, whether you asked for it or not. As you ponder on these words, make a commitment to live for God’s purpose.Ask God to show you why He raised you; ask God to open your eyes to see the purpose for your elevation. Remember, if God has raised you, He did so for a purpose; and if you enjoy your lifting and forget the purpose for your lifting, you will miss your mark in destiny.
