There are a lot of ways for a society to handle its citizens healthcare needs. I ranked the following 4 healthcare systems in order from most desirable to least desirable, in my opinion. 1. You pay the doctor directly for all services rendered. 2. You choose insurance coverage to fit the needs of your family. 3. The government chooses insurance coverage for you. 4. You pay the government indirectly for health care through taxes. The government makes all choices and decisions about what is covered, which doctors are hired, who pays what, etc. Obviously there are differences in costs to each approach, but for this post just assume money is no issue. How would you rank them?
