However, on an issue such as this I trust the word of my friends and neighbors who put their lives on the line daily. What I hear from them doesnt come from a headline on a paper printed in Washington or a news desk in New York or Atlanta. These are men and women who leave work kicking Rio Grande mud off their boots every day. I trust their word much more that any coming from ANY media source...and they say this is a more dire situation than middle America knows.
