There has been criticism in some quarters of the poppy display at the Tower of London. This is, in my opinion, unfair. I think there are many ways and means by which people remember / commemorate the fallen of all wars. For some it is poetry or music, for some it is the wearing of the poppy or visiting the poppy display. For others it is standing in the cold watching the town Remembrance Day parade and for others it is taking the time to visit war graves in France or war memorials nearer home. For me, I cry every time I see THAT episode of Blackadder. It should not be something that is criticised. How we remember matters not to those who fought for our freedoms. What matters is that we remember them.
