There has never been a transmutation from sound to visual as effective as The Man Who Fell To Earth. David Bowie plays the displaced man, an extraterrestrial refugee who comes to Earth to find a new home but instead finds fame and misfortune as a wealthy inventor. His path becomes mired with despair as he strays further from his mission as he is awash in the drama of his new world. David Bowie performance takes the alien persona and makes it just part of his own perceived self, adding elements both fantastic and realistic.
