There hasnt been a blue-green algae bloom in the Tualatin River - TopicsExpress

There hasnt been a blue-green algae bloom in the Tualatin River since the summer of 2008. The source of that bloom was traced to the Wapato Lake Improvement District pumping water from Wapato Lake and a management plan has been implemented to prevent further outbreaks. Wapato Lake is now managed by the US Fish & Wildlife Service. Algae growth in the Tualatin River is managed by water releases from Hagg Lake. Blue green algae is a persistent problem in many lakes in Oregon. Not so in the Tualatin River.
