There have been times while fishing that I find myself wondering - TopicsExpress

There have been times while fishing that I find myself wondering why in the hell do I spend so much time doing this? Well its pretty obvious why; if you want to catch fish, you have to go fishing. So thats precisely what we did last night. I know many of my northern fishing friends may not be a stranger to such conditions but last night was brutal. Al St Cyr and I decided to brave the elements in search of a monster blue cat. Sitting out on an unprotected point with north winds howling at our faces and a layer of sleet and snow on our clothes we proceeded to HAUL! It was truly an epic night. Im guessing somewhere around 30 blues were caught by the time we called it quits around 12:30. Fish were absolutely destroying the baits when they hit holding the rods down until we could get to them. Unfortunately it was so cold that my phone kept dying to protect itself so many fish went without being pictured. Al caught a ton of fish with his biggest going up to 33 lbs 8 oz. I wished I had a photo. Directly after that fish was caught I caught my new personal best blue cat going at 38 lbs 4 oz. The very next fish was a 32 lbs blue for me. We actually used all of our bait so thats the real reason we stopped. Forgive me for the pictures but again when I turned on the phone I had about 30 seconds to snap a photo before it would turn off.
