There is a GIGANTIC spider in the hallway of Dads house. Four inches or more in diameter. So big that it looks fake (but it isnt). Im not moving it -- dont want it scooting up my leg unexpectedly. At the same time, no need to burn the house down. Far as Im concerned, it and its folks are welcome to co-exist harmoniously as fellow inhabitants, as long as I dont have to see them or interact with them. After all, there probably *are* others hidden out of sight, so its not like moving it is sterilising the place, or necessarily reducing the risk of a similar encounter in the future. And theres an infinity of out-of-sight, hypothetical situations and things to be scared about, yet only a finite amount of energy and time in ones life to give to being afraid, so it makes little sense to fear the unseen. Nevertheless, I suspect that at some point in the next few hours I will hear an almighty scream...
