There is a movement to enact a BIG (Basic Income Guarantee) in the US, as well. I support it. As robotics, self-driving vehicles and increasingly sophisticated technology continue to replace human workers, more and more people will no longer be needed in the work force. But, there will still be the same (or more) amount of productivity, profit and progress -- creating the capacity for everyone to live with the basics of life without having to beg, scrounge or compromise themselves in order to do so.
