There is and can never be any excuse for a man abusing a woman. However, when one looks at the rhetoric that emerges from female domestic violence activists one gets the impression that the men who abuse are all devils through and through and that the women, by comparison are out and out angels. The reality however is somewhat different and in the lead up to abuse, both partners would have revealed unsavory facets of their personality in the same manner that both partners would have revealed positive facets of their personalities in the days when all was wonderful. So while the man has no right to abuse the woman, to assume that that man would behave exactly the same way with any other woman would not necessarily be true as the dynamics of each relationship are always different. Indeed most physical abusers are men but I wonder are most psychological and verbal abusers also men? In any case it does become tiring to us men who do not engage in abuse, to see ourselves all tarred and painted with same brush.
