There is so much wrong with this approach. The Prime Minister and her advisers have gotten it WRONG! This thinking dis-empowers women. It invites misogyny and ridicule of women. It will invite violence against women in all forms...physically, economically, emotionally etc. It demonstrates a disdain and total lack of understanding of womens lived experiences. It is intolerant of the needs of women and children as citizens. It under-values womens contribution to the economy. It compromises the rights of working class women. It encourages tensions between social classes of women. This is just WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! PM Kamla Persad Bissessar you and your advisers have gotten this WRONG and you should apologise to this country for this half baked, insensitive, obscenely political and exploitative action intended to blackmail women into supporting your political agenda. You have managed to extract an element of social policy which has worked reasonably well in other countries and make it a burden on working class women accessing their just due from the state.
