There is something I have finally realized about myself, and its taken almost 24 years to break the surface of my consciousness. I am the most horrifically, socially awkward person I have ever known. I always have been since my first day of preschool: I had (l have) no idea how to communicate with others, I physically CANNOT maintain eye contact for more than a second (Im really just staring at your forehead, so), and I was the size of a 5th-grader (no, Im not exaggerating. Ask anyone who went to elementary school with me.) Bonus round: being surrounded by children evokes in me a deep, unspeakable horror, so fantastic, it frays the very fabric of reality. This has not improved over time as I had thought it would. Compound constant social disgrace upon chronic bad luck, I used to tell people those Series of Unfortunate Event books were based on my life. Were not talking Zoe Dechanelle brand of the awkward girl here. Theres nothing 500 Days of Summer about the fact that anyone watching the events of my day-to-day life fold out, is essentially watching a Jerry Lewis routine. youtube/watch?v=X6iL4D8_l74
