There is soon to be a huge rush to teach children how to code. I would say the priority is to teach children how to THINK - a skill eroded massively in todays schools spoon-feeding and parrot training cultures. By THINK, I dont just mean have an opinion - anyone can do that, even babies... I mean: the ability to use reason, logic, creativity, to assess the reliability of evidence, to be able to handle counter-arguments proactively and without mere counter-negation, to be responsive and not reactive, to debate intelligently and not emotionally, to look at evidence in its own right and not presuppositions.
