There must be a name for the act of knowing your refrigerator is empty, your cupboards are bare, yet continually going to said refrigerator and cupboards, opening them and staring into the yawning void as if expecting crumb cake to miraculously appear...then shutting the doors to said refrigerator and cupboards only to return in an hour or so and stare, once more, into the void in search of crumb cake.
