There was a man begging for change by a set of lights yesterday. I keep a compartment of change in my car for these people. It was -18 out when I ran into him. I watched him walk along each car and no one helping him out. I gave him a handful of what I had, continued to watch him pass each car receiving no other help. He turned and started walking back, and I gave him more when he got to my car again. I know not everyone is in a position to give, but most people can give at least a quarter. Anyways, at the last second, he seen my logo on my car, he asked for a job. The light turned green and I had to go. Leaving him behind. I dont have a job I could give him, and Im sad I couldnt help. But thinking about the situation this morning, I remembered what I wanted to do in life. When I was a teenager, I wanted to start a company that gave homeless people a job. I have to rethink this idea. It hurt my heart leaving him in that cold, knowing he wants to work, but more than likely is not given the chance.
