There was a time I complained and knew something had to be done - TopicsExpress

There was a time I complained and knew something had to be done about the situation America is in but didnt know how or what to do. My frustration found an outlet when Huckabee called on those who love freedom to express so during the Chik-fil-A event last year. After spending time and effort contacting news sources, tea partyers, handing out gift cards and flyers and watching the manifestation of such efforts I took a hard look at America. After speaking with numerous individuals about how America could be saved by doing this or discussing the philosophical ideas that are at work in todays Federal Government system, I came to the conclusion that what we are viewing now in todays politics is nothing like the principals America was founded on. There is an argument right now that Republicans dont want to defund Obamacare, they want to defund what Obamacare has become, which is nothing like what was passed by Congress. Similarly, America, as a concept is not inherently corrupt. What America has become, however, is. Unlike many of my tea-party friends I do not believe now, after so many structural changes and philosophical manipulations by the various Federal Administrations, Congresses and Supreme Courts over the years, that the 2013 U.S. government can be rehabilitated to reflect what was established 239 years ago. The Constitution once was the foundation of a country that drew millions from their homelands for a future that had the promise of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Our liberties have now been compromised, our children will be too busy paying back a federal debt to pursue happiness and Obamacare theatens our very lives with substandard healthcare. If care is even granted at all. Since I realized that the society of America is in decline and I do not believe the Federal government has the where-with-all to turn things around I began looking at the legality of reasserting my own State of Texas status as an independent nation. I came to the conclusion that independence from the new America is the only viable solution for those wanting to hold on to the bastions of liberty our forefathers left to us. I began a search for like minded individuals and quickly found myself trying to have this conversation with secession groups that I can only describe as militant. A little discouraged, I disengaged with those folks and looked for a peaceful group that had a vision for change but did so within the framework of legality. I found the Texas Nationalist Movement. I have found like minded Texans who are working together to accomplish real meaningful change. The goal is an independent nation of Texas but in the journey I find myself exhibiting traits that would make any good Texan proud. If you thought Texans in general were a strong willed people, come meet the TNM! I am proud to be counted as one. I appreciate those working so hard in an attempt to steer us out of the corruption around us, but even in Texas, many politicians are so far enveloped in the current political structure that its difficult for them to see a reality without boundaries. In Texas we inherently do not like to be told what to do and we typically have a mind of our own. Most do not know the term You cant do that. Unfortunately over time our politicians forget they have it within themselves to accomplish anything they set out to do. Leaders have the admiration and respect of fellow Texans and we need them now. I am hopeful they will take a look at the reality again with fresh eyes, without the restrictions they place upon themselves. Please entertain the idea long enough to allow yourself to dream just a bit because thats what true leaders do. Are you searching for that leader? Search first in the mirror and ask yourself if you have it in you to dream.
