There was a time that my office in Manila used to be located at the dock, the Manila north harbor, pier 4. Our management always have problems with the gates initially manned by the bureau of customs, then taken over by the Phil ports authority as these gate guards used to collect money from hapless shippers or customers of the shipping lines. One time a big customer went to my office and complained because the guards were demanding a permit of the bureau of mines. I went down to explain to those sob guards that the shipments of my client are not products coming from the mine, thus the bureau of mines permit is out of order,The guards told me, boss who told you that we require bureau of mines. We only need our share or mine, pang yosi lang boss as theres plenty of mosquitoes specially at night.
