There were times in my life when I gave and gave and gave everything I had away...love, service, free advice (or waaaaay too discounted for what Im worth) without a whole lot in return most of the time. Then to be honest, I got a little dried up, became a little bitter, a little jaded, and pulled myself way back in, saying: gotta take care of myself because look at what this has cost me!?! Then I sat, all alone, back in the cocoon of safety and that felt off, too. Were lying when we say our whole lives are in service to others, because humans by nature are self-serving creatures. The thing is that it does feel really good to serve others as long as we know how to meet our own needs for love, too...not that others wont love us or give to us, because we cant ever really expect to get it from another, know its timing or its form. So in this moment, I give you (and me) permission to serve and love myself and from a place of full (or at least full enough), I go out again to serve the world. Its been sorta sad, sorta lonely, sorta essential to learn these lessons and a brighter day is coming... The day where I can give so much more because Ive learned to receive, to stop, to create a boundary. I am more than what I give and I came here to give so much. Stay tuned... 2015 is shaping up to be quite a miracle and its still weeks away.
