Theres an old trick the Turks used to use when they invaded Europe. When they knew theyd be facing an army, theyd go out capture villages and cities. Theyd take captives and drive them before their army. If the other side, didnt just let the captives pass, but instead tried to fight them by they time they got done slaughtering the Turkish captives they were exhausted when they ran into the actual army. Unfortunately, I find a lot of people who have undergone education and advocate training fit the bill of being used as cannon fodder. The people who buy into this training go out and spread the word, never looking at what is going on behind their own lines. After they run into the real world, they burn out, drop out and a new batch of cannon fodder goes rushing forward to replace them. The problem is the broken and discarded people -- while they still believe the problem is bad -- dont step up and tell their story about how they got used. Mostly because, they think theyre unique in their experience. That it was an aberration instead of the norm.
