Theres so much to see and do in Milan but of course our time is limited. We started our exploration in the magnificent Gothic Duomo. I had been there before in the the 60s and a grim faced nun wouldnt allow me entrance as I was wearing a mini skirt. Hmmm.... Things have changed. I was wearing shorts on this visit. We spent quite a few hours here and even gained access to the roof. As always when visiting ancient cathedrals you just have to wonder how they did it. The Brera gallery, the Gallery of Modern Art which is housed in Napoleons summer palace. We were more impressed with the magnificence of the interior. And I thought he was a socialist!! The Science Museum is dedicated to Leonardo Da Vinci and is in an old monastery. Beautiful. Our big disappointment is that we wont be able to see Da Vincis Last Supper in the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. There are limited tickets available. Today we have booked a tour of La Scala and will visit Ambrosiana Gallery and the library.
