Theres something about Arizona that I have never and will never understand. Most people here are so incredibly isolated and unfriendly. Ive lived in New England and Florida and in both places your neighbors would say hello and smile and wave, have BBQs together, etc. Since I moved to Arizona almost 14 years ago, Ive never had ONE neighbor introduce themselves, and I dont think I could even pay them to wave at me. Some of them pull into their garage and close the garage door before they even get out of the car... Really? And please dont comment on here and say Well that happens everywhere because it doesnt. I will disagree with you day and night until we are blue in the face. I cant even tell you how many people Ive met from out of state who say the SAME thing... Arizona is by far the WORST state to live in if youre looking for friendly people to be around on a daily basis. No, this isnt disrespectful to my state, and this isnt a direct shot at anybody, but I needed to get this off my chest to see if anyone else can relate... I truly have never crossed paths with more dry, isolated, standoffish, rude people in my whole life. It makes me sick when I wave at a neighbor only to get a look of disgust and cold shoulder in return.
