These are tips from a friend who contacted someone who knows a lot about finding and catching a lost dog. Stop feeding; make fliers (4 per standard page) and HAND OUT to people. If they have the info on hand dont have to remember where they saw flier and can call right away. Let businesses nearby know and give them fliers. Dogs loose move in a clockwise circle . Need to plot sightings on map so can predict where going next. 3 sightings= can triangulate . Over lapping sightings even better . Get info from sightings: came from where, going where, body language. If calling for dog, do NOT sound tense. Most success if person talking to them has a chuckle and happy call. They will run away if sense tension. Lost Dog Project will help if asked. Have 99% success with retrieval. Specialties dogs escaped from transport, shelters, etc. Have volunteer teams and specific training for just this kind of thing.
