These days, friendship in itself is so fickle. I wonder why anyone is surprised that we have more and more divorces. If meaningful friendships cant last, how can meaningless relationships? I saw true friendship when my grandma passed on in April. My mother and aunts friends Id known since I was a kid - aunt Nkempu Njonguo Catherine is one of them - showed up. Theyre always there. They have always been there. I dont know if my parents generation built stronger friendships. Maybe they did. I do know, that my experience of friendship in my generation pales in comparison to theirs. So, at a time of increasingly shallow friendships; Joan Oben & Charles Oben, the Ngafors, starting with mum, then Ngum Ngafor & Anrette Ngafor-Akinyele, Agathe Nguenkam & her awesome mum, Muyiwa Adejuwon, Yefon Mainsah, Shereen Wardakan, Ethel Ntamsen & Caca Chalifack, Kola Oyeneyin, Eyembe Elango, Ken Essien, Fen Ngu, Shina Irie, Yomi Adegboye (Yomi, you have no idea!), Kwami Adadevoh (whom I first thought was a girl), Thapelo Mokhathi, Daniel Mueller, Adebowale Atobatele (my brother from another mother), Gbenga Sesan, Afolabi Williams, Jean Vincent Djenda Mondon (unforgettable you), Bosun Tijani, Zeal A (the unlikely friend), Lekeufack Fonkem, Paul Olaleye (from boardroom to friends. :)), Tope Oshin Ogun, auntie Roseline Itombra-Okoro, Tabi Rose (i will never forget our UB days) Angela Tabe, Liz Beseka Nammeh, Beri Nsoyani, Yuri Mafon, Eddie Mbugua, Ngwing Kimani & Jack Kimani, Winnie Njeri Ngugi, Mel Liz Koi, Cynthia Tabe, all the Obidirans: Mrs. Yemi Obidiran & Mo Olumide, Obidiran Tolulope, Damilola Obidiran, Gisele Nchinda-Njenku & the awesome Nchinda Clan, Okhai Kenneth Ohiorenoya, Eloghene Becca Gibson, Vincent Nwana, Hyginus Ngassa, Adeola Rasaki, Azubike Obi, Sarah Bakane, Buchi Davinci, Segun Demuren...
