These images are messages to us humans asking us to revisit our relationship with animals and apprehend that they share with us all those traits that we regard as exclusively human. And for some reason we chose to exclude animals from the sphere of our moral concern by putting them under the categories of plants and vegetables so that we can justify the exploitation of animals by subjecting them through immense pain and suffering at a colossal scale; and then we have the audacity to mock the animal advocates by our cheap-shot comments like . . . and what about vegetables . . . thus broadcasting our own callousness and insensitivity toward those creatures who are knocking at the door of our heart through these images. And by not listening to those voices we bring our own humanity, of which we are so proud, at a lowest state of its existence.
