These two mares need a home. They are loved and cared for, however, their owner is aged, and he and his wife are experiencing some health problems. He has asked for us to help him find them a good home together. The chestnut is 20+ yr old QH mare, her name is Belle. Very sweet, was ridden often, but hasnt been ridden in a few years. The gray is a 15-20 yr old Arab mare, Lady , also ridden often, but hasnt been ridden in a few years. She had a slight stripe of rainrot down her back, despite the free choice shelter. They both stand for the farrier, easy keepers (at least he said, but they have wonderful free choice hay). They havent had vaccines or coggins in years because they dont leave the property. He also doesnt use an experienced farrier, but a friend who does their feet. Feet were not bad, but chipped, probably because they were a little long and the ground was uneven and frozen. The owner is terrified that they will end up back at auction, they were both purchased from New Holland several years ago. He will continue to love and take care of them until they get a home. He would love them to go to a family with kids. They are in your pocket, sweet, aware of boundaries and just nice girls. Contact me if interested. They must go together.
