They played this video today for prospective foster parents. This is important. In working with kids, mental illness, disabilities, the elderly, and so many other things its so important to recognize that you dont know exactly what an individual is going through. You cant know and they could never explain it to you fully. People judge what they dont understand in a lot of cases. Its easy to jump to conclusions and insert yourself into someone elses problems. I know Ive done it. In foster care, its so easy to forget that each of these kids has gone through something unique and painful and beyond description.
