They say a picture paints a thousand words. What then does this picture tell? Having been friends for more than 10 years growing up in our little fishing village Bintawa these pictures remind of all the things we experienced together, things we did growing up (most of them stupid) or as Ho Jin Chiat would put it - doing crazy deeds. We once spent nearly half of our year end school holidays gathering cement and sand from a nearby house under renovation to build a fish tank at ah chiats backyard ( this little project was never completed). Playing basketball under the hot sun from 4 to 7 then chilling out with packet after packet of cold syrup drinks. (Kelvin Ho, no mistake) We even had little karaoke /wrestling sessions at night at @kelvin ho house. There was even a time when we much younger where we would go pyromaniac and played with fire at kelvins backyard with virtually any flammable material we could find (think thinner, glue). Remember fear factor guys? Imagine playing hide and seek, only at night. Hiding in drains, behind bushes or inside cars were normal. It was when ventured into a house under construction did the fun really begin. The only two modes of transportation to the world outside Bintawa during lazy afternoons were bicycles and for really long distances, buses. Riding to Sejingkat, going swimming at the Mbks swimming pool, or simply window shopping around town, ah such fond memories. Come Chinese New Year things got really fun. Think aerosol spray cans with candles or sparklers. Setting used bolsters on fire. I suppose the thing i remember most about Steven Ho were our shouting matches as we were the most hot-tempered of the group. 10 plus years on and still friends. Taking one night for all five of us to have a gathering, our first in more than five years.
