They say the eyes are the windows to the soul. And, I believe that to be true. Im one of those people who tend to lock eyes with a person when I first meet them, youd be surprised how much you can learn. Thats what lead me to fall in love with my husband, he had the kindest eyes I had ever seen. But, I dont always just see kind eyes, and, I dont always follow that initial sneak peek and go by what I saw. A short while back, I looked into a persons eyes, the night I met them.. And it was very difficult for me, I could not lock eyes with them, I instantly had a horrible feeling, what I saw wasnt pleasant. Although I made mention of it to a friend, the next day.. I chose to ignore it and continue into a friendship. (Sometimes I feel silly for relying on that alone and chose to ignore it) I ignored it because the person was fun and lively and of course gave me a sad sob story of how they needed friends. Ive learned my lesson. That choice to ignore it was a bad choice, and every day I have to be reminded in one way or another just how awful of a choice that was. Its amazing the landslide one single (person) ripple can cause. And its amazing how so many can stand by and watch it happen. Im here to say... ALWAYS trust that gut feeling and trust what you see in a persons eyes. Youll have a lot less heartache that way.
