Thich Nhat Hanh Do you understand your own suffering and the roots of that suffering? Toyohiko Kagawa As the sculptor devotes himself to wood and sculputor, I would devote myself to my soul. Do any of us truly know our own souls and what makes us suffer or what makes us joyful. How do we begin to answer that question, do I know my own souls desires? I think that we should start by first asking “Who Am I”. Theses three word, can bring a flood of thoughts to our minds, which we can turn over and over again in our minds without solidifying a concise answer. If you ask this question of yourself and find that you are wading through this flood of thought, maybe you should go on a journey. This journey starts by going within, The Christ told the Pharisees and lawgivers that they had hidden the “KEY of KNOWLEDGE” from the people because they didn’t go within, and thus hindered the people from doing the same. So basically find yourself a place of quiet contemplation, close your eyes and meditate, pray. In this practice your soul will begin to help you see and realize who you are and what you want. You have to spend some time with yourself, this is not an overnight process, do get twisted into thinking that you are gonna close your eyes once and receive all of these answers. After you take on this practice for a while. You will begin to discover who you are, what your fears are, what your true hopes are, what brings joy to your life, the things that truly make you light up and feel passion. Get honest with yourself, we have to stop waiting until we are 35 and 40 years old when the years of masking and repressing needs and desires have no other recourse than to escape the boxes that we have resigned them to, in order to appease the desires of others or fit in to the paradigm thinking of the masses. You may find that this journey has many dangerous curves and pitfalls, there may be some fires that you have to go through, some people or things in your life may be burned away, but your soul previously having the value of just so much lead, will now be shining like new gold. In that moment, hopefully you can say I know my soul, I know who I am, I know myself, I know my dreams and I am going to go after them and make them real in my life. Then you can say “Yes, I know who I am”. Be blessed. Oggs.
