Things Ive noticed thus far in Germany: - Rental properties for the most part do not come with a kitchen (stove, cabinets, refrigerator, etc). Youre responsible for installing that. They also make the renter paint when obtaining the property. Closets do not exist. You have to purchase mobile wardrobes. Property sizes are WAAAAAAY smaller. - Personal space is foreign in every way. Talking to people, roads, parking. You name it. - Mexican food is non-existent. - Most people speak English. And better than some back in the states. - The scenery is absolutely stunning! - To see all of the history Germany alone has to offer could take years. - Its central to all the other countries in the EU. Score since Ive been here 3.5 weeks and have already been to Austria and Switzerland. - For the most part people are extremely nice. - Driving is insane! Too much to say about that, lol. - Theres a festival nearly everyday somewhere. - The beer is absolutely amazing and Im not a beer fan. Sorry Whisky. I still love you though. - I have a feeling if I start a band here Id be an instant rock star, lol. They love their metal. Wish I had moved here years ago. Id own my own plane by now. Much more appreciated here than in the states. - It has rained a lot! Feels like Seattle, but its a nice change! - Breakfast is not like back home. They are very big on bakeries. This is not a bad thing. - Coffee...holy shit it is amazing. - Ice cream...holy shit it is amazing. More to come later but so far its amazing. Just have to make some adjustments.
