Things do not happen when or the way we think they should. Ive - TopicsExpress

Things do not happen when or the way we think they should. Ive been struggling with unemployment off and on working for a couple of years. Having to listen to deadbeat Politicians claim that working people are lazy and stupid. Im in a Union; which I will not name right now. My Unemployment ran out in January and up to then I had been paying my Union dues. The Federal Emergency Unemployment Compensation act has literally been shredded by our loving Government and with unemployment figures at an all time high. And to add insult to injury the Veterans package was incorporated into the the Emergency unemployment compensation Bill and was shot down with it. All the while Im going back and forth to the Union Job Training Center (which also will remain nameless) to make myself more employable by obtaining more skill certificates. I returned from the center in mid May and reported to the Union Hall to check my out-of-work-status only to be informed that I was suspended and not on the out-of-work-list. I was depending on my tax return which was supposedly coming in any day. Still not in yet, last week it was three weeks late and when I inquired at the local IRS office they said nothing was wrong and I should get it within three weeks. Great! I got a call this afternoon and my employer wanted me back to work tomorrow at 7 a.m.; all good right, he wasnt informed that I was suspended. i called the union local and they said pay your dues up to date or no go Charlie. I reluctantly asked a friend to help me pay it it. Im going to work tomorrow and for that I am grateful but there is something wrong with this picture. The system isnt working for us its working against us I should not have been suspended the dues should have been suspended until viable work had been offered. we need to change the system drastically.
