Things my Mom Taught Me.I have other food ones but i will wait on them. Credit cards. When i was 18 i applied for my first card. She told me 3 things. Get a Sears credit card.At the time you can buy anything you may need in an emergency, Car stuff tires, batteries etc.clothes,music stereo albums etc.,gifts.The 2nd thing she told me when i moved up to a major credit card. Never use it for something that you wont own . She said never use it for gas,food,entertainment.Back than their was no online shopping or paying for flights with credit cards. To this day maybe 1 time i have used it for food and gas.the 3rd was if you cant pay the balance next month you cant afford it...The funny thing is she was kinda of a shopaholic . but i never saw her use a credit or debit for either food or gas.
