Think about how different things would be if Christians knew their gifting and their calling, if Christians, who knew their gifting, could be a servant to the Body in any church in any place. It’s this corrupt system we currently use in church that prevents that from happening. Everyone is forced to be dependent on their pastor, to give in to each pastor’s demands that he/she must stay committed to that church. It’s manipulation that allows wolves to maintain their mini kingdoms, that prevents Christians from being a blessing anywhere they goes. It’s all a system of control, no different from the way kings and governments maintain control over subjects and citizens. Keep people from knowing their full potential and you can rule over people like cattle on a farm. But, the Kingdom of God shouldn’t be like that. We shouldn’t commit ourselves to a system that could care less about our gifting or our calling, that basically just wants us to show up each Sunday and doesn’t care about whether or not we are able to serve others. We should get rid of the institution of church and become led by the Holy Spirit, by empowering each Christian to know his/her place in the Body and how he/she is meant to operate as a part of the Body. Then, Christians COULD be led by God and would stop being bound by men. But, right now, we have committed ourselves to a system that can never produce anything good. It’s all bondage to the thoughts of those in power, rather than uprooting the hierarchical structure and freeing people to serve as the Spirit moves.
