Think about the significance of today, May 1, 2014. Today is the National Day of Prayer, a day set aside for Americans to hit their knees in prayer and fight for our country. II Chronicles 7:14 reminds us, If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. There is a battle being fought for the HEART of this country. Lets PRAY for God to revive the hearts of His children. Today Rodney Guin turns 54 laying in an ICU bed @ Baylor Medical center in Dallas fighting the biggest battle of his life. It too is a HEART battle, a battle that has been back and forth. Early Saturday morning as I held his hand I prayed that God would heal the heart of a man that taught me in school, a man that serves with me in church, a man that me and my family vacation with, a man that I hunt with, a man that is truly one of my best friends. As Saturday went on it looked like God was going to heal him in Heaven and to be honest I was mad about that. What a difference a few days makes, everyday God is proving His power by making Rodneys heart stronger. Saturday my mind was flooded with what I was going to stand and say about him, and today my mind is flooded with what I can not wait to say to him. Today the Haughton Adventure Weekend starts with the Extreme Student Event @ the Haughton High School Football Stadium where Rodney Guin has fought battles for the last 14 years. Tonight will be another battle for HEARTS. This time the battle will not be physical, but spiritual. I was a senior at Haughton High when the spiritual battle for my heart was won. I pray that tonight Jesus will win the battle in the hearts of many, many students. Lets Pray for HEARTS today!
