This Crompton & Knowles automatic loom is the museums demonstration loom. It is run to give visitors an understanding of the technology and processes used at woolen mills across the country a generation ago. We are running low on warp and over the next few months we will be re-warping the loom so it can continue to be used in demonstrations. This is the first time we have attempted this process using our own machines to prepare the warp for the loom. Stay tuned for updates and behind-behind-the-scenes looks into this project! A huge thanks to Pendleton Woolen Mills for the generous donation of yarn that will be woven.
