This Months Featured Writer......William Hope Hodgson 1877-1918 Well last month we honored the great Lord Dunsany and this month we have another of Lovecrafts favorite authors as well a strong influence Mr. William Hope Hodgson. Sure many here have read some of Hodgsons work. His novel of cosmic horror The House On The Borderlands was a true favorite of Lovecrafts but so were other works from this British writer of novels, short stories, essays and poems. Hodgson had a very interesting life and spent much of it at sea. Indeed many of his stories concern the sea which makes him a good choice to go along with our theme this month of Lovecrafts seaside town of Kingsport. Beside his nautical horror tales he also gave the world one of its finest occult detectives... Carnacki. Mr. Hodgson had a birthday last month which we acknowledged but we had went with Lord Dunsany as he fit so well with our Dreamlands theme..but no worry. This month is for William Hope Hodgson.
