This Poem was inspired by a conversation today with another sister. It is very interesting how we can make false assumptions about a specific individuals character or actions based upon a conversation that we have with someone. If we are not directly involved in a situation and do not know if someone has done or said a specific thing, we should truly have nothing to say about it. Just because you hear my name from another as you speak Does not convey that Im involved, yet it could be what you seek. :-( If youre unsure about my actions, my words or my intent Please take the time to come to me, twill be time very well spent. You may find it wasnt me at all who did what you assume Chances are I wasnt even there, dont send me to my doom! Remember what youve seen in me, youve known me ever since My character, should it be well-formed, will speak in my defense. Dont compare me to another, as the Scriptures say is wrong Neither put me opposite as they are, allow me to sing MY song! Do unto others just as you would have them do to you How would you feel if others spoke of a you thats not really YOU! So watch your tongue, no hasty conclusions, no evil nor reason to fudge It is before God that I stand or I fall, who is it that made you my judge? Be sure to be prudent and wise as could be, to give the benefit of the doubt Give me a chance before you place blame, take the time and try to find out. In the end, when this life is over, and our words from our tongues have been sent When God gathers them up to judge us by them, it will be too late to repent!!!
