This Saturday! Viva Flores!!! TUMBLEWORDS PROJECT AND EP POETRY PROJECT COLLABORATE! Oct 5 Viva Flores Memoir: Releasing Ancestral Memory Viva Flores is a poet and performer living and working out of El Paso, Texas. Viva has written and produced a one-woman show, Mujer Corazon, as well as written a play, Moños de Batalla, a Revolutionary Fairy Tale. A few performance highlights include reciting poetry at the 40th Anniversary of the Chicano Moratorium in Los Angeles, California and being invited to be a special guest for Lalo Delgado’s Annual Birthday Celebration by the Metro College in Denver, Colorado. Viva was also a featured poet at Café Cultura in Denver, Barbed Wire Open Mic in El Paso, Flowers of Fire in Los Angeles and "El Mundo Zurdo and An International Conference on the Life and Work of Gloria Anzaldua" at University of Texas at San Antonio. She brought the house down in El Paso when the Librotraficante caravan pulled into town, and she has been featured at the famous RESISTENCIA Bookstore in Austin, Texas. Published poetry includes Mujeres de Maiz Anthology Editions Cantando al Amanecer and La Sagrada, From Turtle Island to Abya Yala, published by Malinalli Press, and Mezcla: Art & Poetry from the Tumblewords Project. She performed with the EP Poetry Project in June 2013.
