The Summer Camp will gather the future young athletes, young leaders, young artists, future human right activists. 40 young participants over the 4 days will participate in the following activities: - Youth, health, violence prevention and peace (Round Table) The objective will be to discuss the means to reinforce the participation of young women and men at local level, particularly in rural settings (villages: Matiqan and Zllatar), so as to engage them as meaningful actors of peace and community development and prevent violence affecting them at home, school and community. A special focus will be placed on young women and the engagement of vulnerable and marginalised rural youth. - Sport for social inclusion Basketball as sport, will be approached as a socially integrative force and the conveyor of values of peace and healthy leaving particularly among youth. Particular emphasis will be put on the use and role of sport and it’s availability in rural areas. - Heritage and creativity for sustainable development (photography trip around Prishtina heritage sites) Special attention will be paid to the contribution of culture to community development and dialogue, through the promotion and protection of local heritage, including intangible and city heritage, and actions in favour of creativity and innovation. - The Talking Tree (Creative stationed activity in the Mother Theresa square) With the help from the Art animator the young people (volunteers) will create a tree from the recycled paper/carton with leaves you can read, messages left by everyone the tree comes into contact with. As well as the tree volunteers will be on hand to offer a picnic of crafty activities, juices and cakes to public. The young people from the general public will be encouraged to write a message on the tree; eg. I think it’s important to talk about mental health because..’ The aim is to determine public concerns in relation to youth and mental health. This activity will serve as “info point” about youth with mental health conditions. In addition to the above the volunteers will provide some leaflets, information about online materials, or their own voice to provide information to young people about Youth Mental Health. We invite all interested youth and their parents to participate. More information to follow in due course. Regards BEN Staff
