{This Sunday 18 May} *BIRDWOOD FARM DAY* Birdwood Primary School has become famous for its Annual Farm Day with 2014 marking their 40th anniversary. Set in the beautiful Mount Crawford Forest just 10 km from Birdwood, the idealic setting makes it perfect to bring the whole family and enjoy a fabulous day out. Crisp autumn air, the smell of woodsmoke from campfires, freshly baked damper & billy tea, tractors & ponies carting happy kids around, the sound of a tug-o-war or sack race, treasure hunting in the bric a brac, gumboots & hot soup … As the name suggests, the Birdwood Farm Day has a farming theme with plenty of fantastic country life demonstrations and loads of attractions. Activities and entertainment includes: • Animal Nursery • Horse Rides • Bric-a-Brac • Plants & Garden Supplies • CFS Demonstration • Mega Raffle & Silent Auction • Forestry SA • Restored Machinery • Homemade Gourmet Goodies • Scouts SA • Interactive Children’s games in the arena • St John’s Ambulance • Live Music • Performing Dogs • Log Chopping • Sheep Shearing • Face Painting • Medieval Sword Fighting There will also be a scarecrow competition open to all children and families – you can make your scarecrow out of anything, but the aim is to use recycled materials. Get the kids involved and bring your Scarecrow along with you on Farm Day. Judging will happen on the day with prizes for winners.
