This Wednesday Im leaving to serve as a full time missionary on a mini-mission. Although its only a two week period, I am still going to work just as hard as if I was on my full time mission. This will help me prepare for my mission when I turn 19 and can leave for 1 year 1/2. I know that this will help strengthen my testimony and prepare me for being a wife and a mother in the future. I know my Heavenly Father loves me and has wonderful plans for me. I am so grateful for parents that taught me the gospel from a young age and always encouraged me to serve a mission. The testimony of the gospel is everlasting. I would not deny it for the world. I know we have a living prophet on the earth today and his name is Thomas S. Monson. He is the mouth piece for our Lord and savior. Men ages 12 and up who are worthy, hold a special kind of power called the priesthood. They are given this power through our Heavenly Father. We have temples on the earth today that allow families to be sealed together for all time and eternity. We are also able to preform baptisms for the dead. Those that have gone on before us may have the opportunity to be sealed with their loved ones and be baptized. Going to the temple and feeling the sweet spirit that is there is the most amazing feeling. It really is the closest place to heaven. I feel joy and peace when as I sit in the temple and reflect on all the blessings I have received, and that I will receive. This gospel is true. I know that all of the guidelines and standards that we are encouraged to follow are for many reasons. They are not to control you or keep you from doing things. They are to simply help keep you on the path of righteousness, and that is the path I strive to be on daily.
