This afternoon a call went out to help a small scared dog in the Mount Druitt area. After quite some time this girl was caught by some ladies and a truck driver. When I arrived this girl was so scared but instincts took over and I picked this girl up and held her in my arms. We scanned but to avail, she was not chipped. Her condition was matted, covered in burrs and prickles all over her tiny little body. We took to Woodstock Animal Hospital and vet David gave her the once over, took a burr out of her eye and told us there was no damage. He then gave her a worming tablet and a card with his number on it. If she stayed at the Vets she would be there until Monday and be heading straight for the pound. Tonight we have been able to groom the burrs out. Thanks to the apprentice groomer Kristy who had the hard job while i was cuddling her. We then gave her a wash. Then lots of love and attention. She has had chicken breast, pasta, kibble and water. Now she is protected from the elements and has a safe and warm place to sleep. Goodnight Girl.
