This article is by Pati Jinich, one of the chefs on Create. She is by far the prettiest of the chefs on Create. Born and raised in Mexico City, she still speaks with a charming accent, with perhaps with an emphasis upon enunciation. She is very good. The show, and her cookbook, is named .Pati’s Mexican Table: The Secrets of Real Mexican Home Cooking. One of her comments in this article from the Washington Post interested me. She said that San Antonio is the Meca of Tex-Mex cooking. Actually, she said the capital of Tex-Mex. In the three years that Janet lived in San Antonio, I never once dined on Tex-Mex. I know, thats rather sad but Janet is a picky eater in some respects and she basically doesnt like that cuisine. Oh well, gives me a reason to go back.
