This bird, at Cranberry Marsh/Otterbein Lake in Warren County, was originally reported midday on Friday as a California Gull. I got these (bad) photos a little over an hour later. Im of the opinion that its probably a Lesser Black-backed X Herring gull hybrid. It had a rather stout bill with a red spot (lacking black) and clearly pinkish legs. But it was also intermediate in size between the Ring-bills and Herrings, and it was slightly darker above. I welcome others thoughts, especially those who have experience with that hybrid combination.
