This blog post from dBridge (Head honch of one of the sickest labels in the DnB scene) is super on point. Seriously. I hear Is drum & bass dead/dying? or dnb died a long time ago. etc etc Check it out, Drum and Bass is not dead. Drum and Bass has been around for more than 2 Decades, evolving while still staying true to its sound. Drum and Bass heads in every corner of the world support the sound and keep it alive, if you went off and liked some other stuff that doesnt mean it died, theres still a huge family worldwide supporting the sound. All these other styles, pop, rap, country, etc. They have all changed with the times, and some genres and sounds have gotten lost over time. But DnB is still here, and still sounds like DnB. Personally I look at DnB as a lifestyle. I wake up and its what drives me to do nearly everything I do. Be nice to people, work hard, love everyone/everything. Without DnB at the helm of my motivation I personally would not know what Id be doing right now. Id probably be one angry lad still in the corps. The culture inside of DnB is so exciting, so many amazingly talented and awesome artists creating some of the coolest sounds to share with us and inspire us. Its damn near every week a BIG Tune or album hits the market. And what is better to get excited about, than a piece of art that transports you into a different realm sometimes? I totally find myself Zoning Out into the DnB universe quite often, and i know many of my brothers and sisters can agree that the view from that part of the universe is beautiful. Live inside the vibe.
