This brave girl was found roaming the streets with a massive tumor on her front leg. The tumor had gone untreated for so long that it was massive, open and infected. Apparently Maggie had an owner who said he would shoot her to fix the problem. Thankfully a very kind woman was able to catch Maggie and transport her to the Pemberton Vet where they immediately operated and removed a tumor the size of a melon. We have been anxiously awaiting her test results to find out if the cancer had spread throughout her body, today her histopathology report came back and we found out that the removal was successful and the cancer did not spread! This was a very painful ordeal for poor Maggie and she is still on the road to recovery after her surgery. Despite her pain and suffering she is a very sweet patient and will lie very still for us while we do her daily bandage change (of which she is not a fan). Maggie will also need dental surgery when she is feeling better as she has some broken and rotting teeth.
