This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire what is - TopicsExpress

This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire what is probably the lowest mileage Audi 80 in existence. This 1992 Audi 80 was purchased by its first owner for his wife. After a short period of ownership (and use), there was a separation and the gentleman kept hold of the Audi 80 and put it under a cover in his car port and left it there... This was back in the beginning of 1994. The 1994 Tax disc is still with the vehicle and on display. The vehicle was purchased a few months ago by an elderley friend of the first owner who was going to use it as a daily instead of his A6 which was racking up the miles, but the lack of creature comforts compared to the more modern Audi meant that he didnt want to keep it so I decided it needed to come home with me which is all of 10 miles! I took it straight to my friends garage who then spent a couple of days recomissioning her, changing all the fluids, discs and pads, filters, battery, plugs, a new set of tyres and cam belt and then she went for her very first MOT and she passed with flying colours! So yes, I do have all the old MOTs from new.....all one of them! There was no radio in it when I got her, but I have sourced the correct Blaupunkt Canberra cassette/radio although this has only been pushed in to place and hasnt been wired up. There is a period compass which has been mounted to the dash as well as an original Orange Feu freshener which is hanging form the indicator stalk. I havent removed these as to me, they are all part of the cars history. The interior is in superb condition as you would expect from a car which has had very little use in its life. The engine bay is extremely clean with all the stickers intact and even the engine bonnet light still works! It also still has both its original dealer plates and dealer key fob. (Hartwell - Smithfield) Now, please dont expect a 100% concours unmolested car. It has been stored under a cover in a car port for 21 years, and there has been a small amount of condensation which has caused some minor pitting although these are all in area which cannot be seen, such as in the rear door shuts near the rubbers and under the rear boot lid. There has also been a very small localised repair to the very corner of the bonnet. I know its there although it isnt very obvious. There are also a couple of minor dings on the body and roof from its time in storage. These are minor and I am fussy, and if I didnt point them out to you, the chances are you wouldnt notice. Also a very small area of rubbing to the paint on the o/s/f wing. Being a base model 2 litre Audi 80, it has the wind up windows, which is probably a blessing as a lot less to go wrong! The car has just had a 2 day detail to bring that VAG single stage white paint back to life and she really does look like she should be in a showroom. Since its MOT in November, I have driven her a massive 13 miles. It now shows 4883 miles on the clock and everything just feels so tight and like new. She is still being run in and I would hope anyone that buys her will show the car the respect it is due and also take into consideration that it has only done about 15 miles in 20 years. It comes with its original handbook and wallet, 3 keys, all 1 MOT and its first ever service receipt!! Ive had a number of very low mileage classics in my time, including NSU, DKW, Auto Union and Audis. My old 1986 Audi 90CD which had 7800 miles on the clock, is now in the very careful ownership of Audi themselves. The car is currently in secure dry storage at my work nr Shrewsbury and maybe viewed Monday-Friday by prior appointment. It may also be possible to view at a weekend as I only live a few miles away.
