This day 9 years ago I was being induced to have Logan. I was huge and uncomfortable and told Logan was a big baby. He was always the active babe, which made for even more discomfort as the doctors insisted I have monitors around my huge belly and came in to move them every 5 minutes because he would move away from them. I had a few choices since no progress was being made. Go home, keep laying in bed with monitors uncomfortable as hell, or have a cesarean. I was anxious to meet Logan and be relieved from the discomfort of the hospital bed and monitors. Logan was born, floppy ear, knot in his cord, and crying. 8.7 lbs and 18 1/2 inches long. His nipples were almost non- existent. They took him too early it seemed. I remember his perfectly round head and beautiful cry. They brought him over to my face for a kiss and wheeled me off to recovery for 6 hours. I didnt get to see him until I stopped the bleeding and oxygen level issues. When I did, he was mouthing me and his fist. He latched perfectly and was so good at breastfeeding. We stayed in the hospital for 5 days.... together. He turned orange and lost weight because my body is not made to produce milk as it should. The pediatrician says to me, Youre starving your baby. We started supplemental feedings and he turned his normal beautiful coloring again. The fifth day I literally ran out of the hospital excited to get Logan home after staples were removed from my tummy. This highly intelligent goofy boy is 9 today. Hard to believe that so much time has passed in our lives together already. I love you my Logey Bear!
